THE UNIVERSITY

Victoria University (Barbados) Inc. is a School of Medicine, located in Warrens St. Michael on the beautiful Caribbean Island of Barbados in the North American region.

The University was chartered in 2017 and has been operational since October 2019. The institution has a vision to deliver quality medical education and aspired to facilitate students’ learning in medicine, clinical practice and patient care.

VUB is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Government of Barbados, recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI), registered with Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), and listed in World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS), certified by Barbados Accreditation Council (BAC).

Currently VUB offers a 4 year and 5 year MD program based on the US medical curriculum and facilitates Clinical rotations through hospital affiliations with the Manmohan Memorial Hospital in Nepal. Students wishing to attend clinical rotations in the US will also be accommodated through the university, at the student’s expense

For better rapport between students and faculty members and a more personalized learning experience, VUB maintains an apt lecturer to student ratio of 3:2. The programs are taught in English by trained medical professionals recruited from Barbados and the wider Caribbean islands. Diverse backgrounds and international medical exposure helps students to develop the skills necessary for the international practice of medicine. Our training ensures that after completion of the MD program.

To provide the students with hands-on experience in clinical practice and patient treatment, VUB offers its students clinical rotations in Asian and Caribbean countries. International medical exposure helps our medical aspirants develop skills for the international practice of medicine, and our recognitions ensure that after completion of their MD in Barbados, they can practice in the country of their choice.

At VUB, we don’t just take care of the medical education of our students, but their life as well. During their 5-Year stay with us, we make sure that students feel safe, live happily, and study productively. That’s why we have built a campus that houses furnished hostel facilities, located conveniently next to both eating and leisure facilities. We also ensure the safety of our staff and students with monitored access to the facility, equipped with things required for a modern lifestyle, and ensure the safety of the entire VUB members.

To make every student have a sense of belonging and connection, we have built a culture of inclusion, diversity, and friendliness where students from different countries come together with their cultural practices and contribute to the diversity here while learning the values of others too!

We believe in the holistic development of students. To ensure that our students don’t just excel in medicine but other aspects of life as well. We periodically arrange exciting recreational activities for our diverse range of students. Many of these include retreats within the natural, exotic aesthetic of Barbados’ gardens, beaches and wildlife.
